Challenge 10: Continual, Countless, Never-ceasing

Chase,

I apologize for my inability to get up a post for the past three weeks. Total fail. It has been a busy holiday season but a good one. It was nice to get several days off for both Christmas and New Years. I needed a couple days off. With Alyssa’s wedding the weekend before Christmas I was spoiled enough to have four shortened weeks in a row. Thus, this will be a rough long week for me as I enter into my first full week of work in a month.

Work is going well. I am coming up on my one year anniversary. Can you believe that!? Part of me cannot believe that the time has gone by so fast. I begin to wonder what I have done in the past year. Outside of work I fear it has not been very much. However, inside of work I cannot believe it has only been a year. I feel like I have been a Dodge much longer. When I think of all I have done it is hard to believe I accomplished all of it in only one year. At my one year anniversary on January 17th I will have completed 2 annual reports, 3 newsletters, 1 gala, 7 events, among  many other things. I am almost done reformatting our newsletter as well. I am very proud of it. I am also proud of the success I have had working with the membership subcommittee and that portion of my job.

I had challenge us to make a list of our blessings. I really enjoyed reading what you had to say. I appreciated the fact that you created a short list of things you felt were most important in life.

I wrote mine on the bus on my way to Madison for Alyssa and Eric’s wedding and pretty much just wrote down what came to my head. Which is kind of interesting to see what I felt was important enough to come to my head before others.

My Blessings:
1. A God that loves me
2. A Lord that gave His life for mine
3. My family (Mom, Dad, Chase, Parker, Madeline)
4. Friends that care for me – Amy, Kristen, Tyler, Jen, Karin, Dana, Clinton, Kyle, Willis, Mike, Brittany, Jenn, Eugene, Zac, Noele, Amy, Bri, Alyssa, Sarah  ( I feel like I just keep adding to this list)
5. My good health
6. I have a job
7. I love my boss and other employees
8. I like my job
9. I have some where to live
10. I can afford to support myself
11. I have a future

I definitely prioritized people first on my list. I think the people in your life make the largest impact and I am beyond  appreciative and thankful for the people who God has blessed my life with. I do not know what I would do without our family and my friends.  I agree, we really lucked out with the family we were born into. I used to think about that a  lot when I would think of Brian’s family situation. The sad thing is you do not get to choose what family your are a part of. Thus, we really should be saying our thank you’s for being so lucky. I wish Madeline would have been in this picture to the right too. I only had one of the three of us.

The rest of my items almost seem so basic or so unexciting. But it is in the basic such as I have a job in a economy where many don’t that I need to really be thankful for what I have regardless of the details. And I happen to be blessed enough to also like my job, my boss who I share an office with, and the rest of my coworkers. Not only is it a job but it is a resume builder position that is allowing be to grow exponentially in the working world.

And in the end not only am I blessed in the present but I have a bright future in store for me. I have the opportunity to do more, see more, learn more, love more, be loved more, grow more, travel more, explore more. I have a God that works all things for my good and knows the desires of my heart better than I do. I am blessed with the content joy of knowing MORE blessings are waiting for me up the road.  ”It’s never to late to be who you might have been”   George Elliot

I love you!
